The Confessions

Picked up a new volume of Augustine’s Confession. (read it online here) Nice font, clean pages, a few illustrations with a box cover.

  1. I love Augustine, the Christian theolog & man, indeed one of the great Western minds! I have a copy of his Confessions I got as a boy in Ireland (1954, Burns & Oates). It still has the dust-jacket. (I put all of my book-covers in mylar. And I have the newer copy from the Augustinian Heritage Institute (New City Press, 1997)…Also hardback with dust-jacket. A Western Christian Classic!

Btw, have you ever read Augustine’s book on the Trinity (De Trinitate)? another classic!

I have read Augustine on the Trinity but will admit I read way too fast to absorb much of it.

      • Indeed Augustine is always a slow read, one of those guys one must read and ponder, but the ponder of both intellect/mind & spirit!
